new shoes

An orphanage in the Thousand Hills area of South Africa.

It's  where my husband and I are spending a couple of weeks learning and volunteering.

It's also where the kids got new shoes yesterday.

Toms advertises that for every pair of shoes that someone purchases, they give a pair away.

These were the shoes that they were giving away.

I help out in the "crèche" - 3 to 6 year olds from the orphanage and the community.

They were pretty excited to get their new shoes.

Happy children and one very smiling-all-over volunteer from Canada.

Seeing shoes go where they are promised and where they are needed.

A good day.
