it's currently - August

the sun is shining, the birds are singing

August means one more month of summer.  Time to squeeze in all the projects that have been saved for summer holidays, and soak up every drop of sunshine that comes our way.

Other than painting and redecorating madly (3 bedrooms) - here is my Currently - all linked up with Farley at O Boy Fourth Grade.

I bought me a fun new pair of rubber boots to keep at school.  On my little island on the west coast of Canada, it rains ... a lot ... all winter (but this summer is glorious and sunny).  Rain (unless it is horizontal) does not keep us inside.  So, recess and rubber boots go hand in hand.  Check out these beauties.

Lavender oil is my friend.  It smells wonderful, is a pick-me-up, or a calm-me-down, depending on what is needed,  is great for headaches, is a natural antiseptic and antibiotic, is an anti-imflamatory, and soothes skin irritations. But, most importantly, lice don't like it.  I put a good dose of lavender in my hair conditioner, and am ready to face the little critters without fear.

I want a QR code.  It looks fun.  It looks trendy.  Gotta make me one.

Pete the Cat is fun and trendy.  And he is having a party. It's a busy place.

Link up your Pete posts -- old, new, shoes, school, button, activities, freebies, paid items.

    1. I was only thinking about an ocean view patio and an umbrella drink - don't have either (but I can see the ocean from my driveway, and if there was a big storm and some of my neighbour's trees fell down ....)

  2. lemme know if there's anything I can do to help with QR codes...I have a couple of posts on my website about them. They're super easy--having a smartphone or scanner is the hardest part.

    1. thanks for the offer of help with the QR codes - I may well take you up on it. We have had a lovely sunny summer, but I bet dollars to donuts, the rains will come back with force in October and I will have plenty of opportunity to wear my boots.

  5. Love your boots! I don't like going out in the rain at recess ... but I run in the rain all the time and actually love that.
Lavendar oil is a fave of mine, too. I have a big bed devoted to it.

  7. I live in Arizona and we don't even go outside if it's barely raining so I would never get to wear a cute pair of boots like that! So you may envy my kitchen but I totally envy your boots! (and that umbrella drink, ocean, and sound of boats...thanks for taking me away for a minute there!) I'm your newest follower!
